Fine Merino
It was many centuries ago when mankind first recognized the
special qualities of wool and, since then, people all around
the world have used it to make garments and blankets.
Today, merino wool offers us an exquisite alternative to
other materials. Deliciously soft and ‘cozy’,
its fibres glide over our bodies providing protection and
comfort that is kind to even the most sensitive of skins.
It is no secret that wool cannot be beaten as a natural thermal
insulator, and merino wool is particularly special in this
regard. What makes it so exceptional is that when the fine
fibres are layered together, their naturally crimped shapes
form millions of tiny air pockets that trap air, keeping a
stable barrier between the body and the environment.
Most of the New Zealand merino fleece used for The Cozy Wool
Company products comes from specially-bred sheep grazing the
cool temperate alpine and sub-alpine pastures of the beautiful
South Island.
When it comes to choosing products for babies and young children,
quality and gentleness must come first – and it's hard
to go past a natural product like merino wool.
